Vacuum Truck Services

High-powered vacuum excavation and debris removal for utility exposure,
potholing, pipe cleaning, and site cleanup. A safer, faster alternative
to mechanical excavation when working around existing underground utilities.

Vacuum truck on site for utility potholing and debris removal — southeastern Idaho
- Overview

What Are Vacuum Truck Services?

Vacuum truck services use high-powered suction combined with pressurized water or air to safely excavate soil, remove debris, and expose underground utilities without the risk of damage from mechanical digging equipment. The excavated material is collected in the truck's onboard tank and hauled away — leaving a clean, precise excavation exactly where it's needed.

JAG Enterprises operates vacuum truck equipment throughout Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming for a wide range of applications — from potholing to verify utility locations before drilling, to cleaning and jetting existing pipelines, to removing debris from construction sites and utility vaults.

Vacuum excavation is now widely required or recommended by engineers and project owners before any underground drilling or boring begins. It eliminates the risk of striking an unmarked or mismarked utility line — protecting workers, protecting infrastructure, and keeping projects on schedule.

Applications
Potholing, cleaning, debris removal
Method
Hydro or air vacuum excavation
Tank Capacity
Onboard — material hauled away
Surface Disruption
Minimal — precision excavation
- How It Works
1
Site Assessment
The work area is reviewed and utility locate markings are confirmed. The vacuum truck is positioned for optimal reach and the appropriate excavation method — hydro or air — is selected based on soil type and proximity to utilities.
2
Excavation
Pressurized water or air is used to break up and loosen the soil at the target location. The loosened material is simultaneously drawn up through a large diameter vacuum hose into the truck's holding tank — a precise, controlled excavation with no mechanical digging risk.
3
Utility Exposure and Verification
As the excavation deepens underground utilities are carefully exposed and their exact location, depth, and condition are verified. This information is documented for the project record before any drilling or boring proceeds.
4
Debris Removal and Disposal
All excavated material is contained in the truck's onboard tank throughout the operation. When complete the material is hauled off site and disposed of properly — leaving the work area clean.
4
Backfill
Pothole excavations are backfilled with appropriate material and compacted once utility verification or other work is complete. Surface restoration is performed as required by the project specifications.
Pothole Before You Drill
Many engineers and municipalities now require vacuum potholing to verify utility locations before any trenchless drilling or boring begins. JAG Enterprises offers vacuum truck services as a standalone service or as part of a complete trenchless project package — saving you time and eliminating the risk of costly utility strikes.

Why Choose Vacuum Excavation

Eliminates risk of striking unmarked or mismarked underground utilities during excavation

Precise excavation only where needed — surrounding soil and infrastructure remain undisturbed

All excavated material contained and hauled away — no spoil piles left on site

Works in tight spaces and congested utility corridors where mechanical excavators can't operate safely

Faster than hand digging and safer than mechanical excavation — keeps projects on schedule

Common Applications
Potholing
Verify utility depth and location before drilling or boring begins

Pipe Cleaning & Jetting
Clear blockages and debris from sewer and stormwater lines

Utility Vault Cleaning
Remove sediment, debris, and water from underground vaults and manholes

Construction Debris Removal
Remove spoil, slurry, and debris from active construction and trenchless project sites

Spill Cleanup
Rapid containment and removal of liquid or solid spills at utility and industrial sites

Daylighting
Safely expose buried utilities for inspection, repair, or connection work
